Q: I want the referral bonuses. Can I refer a teacher who wants to leave a partner center?
A: Absolutely not! We are not in the business of taking employees from trusted centers. Sunflower does not hire any current or former partner center employee unless they have been unemployed for the center for at least 90 days or until the center is no longer partnered with us; we will always contact the center before we proceed.Â

A: You will update your availability weekly on or by Friday for the week after next via the Availability Survey. You can update it bi-weekly or monthly if you have less to work around. We start the schedule for the following week each Wednesday morning, so updating your available days/time is crucial. We also offer same-day support, so proper availability will help you get placed during same-day placements.

Q: Do I get any supplies to help me be a successful substitute?
A: Yes! Once your training is complete, you can build a "survival kit" for you to carry daily and we will reimburse you up to $20. We suggest adding items like a few board books, pop-its or fidgets, a pen just for you, hand or finger puppets, and any song/poem/action cards you may have collected from past trainings. Utilize your local library to swap out books monthly!
